How To Be Saved and Know It
 
There are certainly many important decisions we make in life. The person you marry, your life’s work, where should I live, etc. However, the most important decision you make in life is to answer the question "where will you spend eternity"? Or as someone said, “where will you be one minute after you die?”
 
The Bible is the only book that tells us how we can know that we are going to heaven after we die. Here is what the Bible says:
 
1. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Of course we realize that no one is perfect and totally without sin.
 
2. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT BECAUSE YOU ARE A SINNER YOU OWE A PENALTY.
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Of course we realize that one day we will all die.
 
3. YOU NEED TO REALIZE THAT JESUS CHRIST HAS PAID YOUR SIN DEBT.
Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Because God’s Son Jesus Christ was not a sinner, God placed all your sin on Jesus Christ and punished Him in your place to pay the sin debt that you owed.
2 Corinthians 5:21 – “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
But after the Lord Jesus Christ died in your place, He did not remain in the grave. After three days, the Lord Jesus arose from the dead conquering sin, death, hell, and the grave.
I Corinthians 5:3-4 – “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
 
4. YOU NEED TO ACCEPT BY FAITH WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR YOU WHEN HE DIED ON THE CROSS AND CALL UPON HIM TO SAVE YOU.
Romans 10:9-10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
John 3:36 – “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
 
To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that you are totally and completely trusting in Him to take you to heaven.
 
If you are willing to trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour let me invite you call on the Lord now:
“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I cannot save myself, I repent of my sins and place my faith and trust in You as my Saviour. Thank You for saving me and giving me a home in heaven for all eternity. Help me to live for You as You give me life.”
 
Notice that John 5:24 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
